Beer from old bread
Ever felt guilty about discarding leftover bread? In North-western Europe, people have been crafting beer-like beverages from old bread for centuries. Inspired by this, we replaced some of the barley in beer brewing with old bread from bakeries, creating Munich's most sustainable beer, all thanks to two Venezuelans!
This was more like a hobby, not a big project. We brewed a few batches in our university's innovation center's large kitchen. It was here that my co-founder Carlos and I worked together for the first time, discovering our shared passion for creating value from waste. This experience led us to embark on an innovative journey, founding "thefoodyou."
