Vegan Pulled Pork made from Banana Peels

You can eat banana peels! (at least the organic ones...)

We rescued bananas from supermarkets, used the banana peel for the meat, and the banana fruit for the sauce. We even had a Banana Kimchi product!  

 

This idea was inspired by our Venezuelan heritage. With our concept and initial prototypes, we entered various competitions, winnig  the IGL competition by TUM Venture Labs in Munich and our first $2.000 grant.

 

There were big challenges, like pesticide free certifications, customer acceptance, and novel food classifications. We realised our team wasn't best suited for launching a B2C product, and we pivoted to offer the benefits of our product to other companies in a B2B format. Learn more about it here
